TOBIAS SINN is a senior process design engineer with Linde Engineering (Email: tobias.sinn@linde.com). He studied at the Technical Univ. of Karlsruhe and Technical Univ. of Catalonia in Barcelona and obtained an engineering diploma (equivalent to a master’s degree) in mechanical engineering with a focus on energy and environmental technology. He joined Linde Engineering in 2011 and has more than 12 years of experience in olefin technologies as a process design engineer for large olefin plants with a focus on the separation section. Projects include design of new plants as well as complex revamp projects and investigations into alternative olefin routes. Since 2020, he developed with his team progressive low-emission plant designs, starting from the concept evaluation phase through to the detailed design of innovative plant components. Sinn was involved in the project execution of the first eFurnace demonstration unit and in the development of advanced heat integration concepts for future upscaled eFurnace applications. Recently, Sinn has extended his process engineering expertise and is also involved in the design of world-scale blue hydrogen plants. He is a co-inventor of several patents and patent applications in the field of low-emission and electric steam cracking furnaces.
