Tony Chan is a Mechanical Group Director and technical lead in fired equipment in Fluor’s Houston office, and one of the subject matter experts (SMEs) in fired equipment supporting all Fluor offices worldwide. He obtained his master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Univ. of Tulsa (TU). He also has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from National Taiwan Univ. (NTU). He started his career in the energy and chemical industry in 1988. Since 2013, he has been serving as a member of the American Petroleum Institute (API). He has been in engineering, management, and SME positions with fired heater companies and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies for 35 years. His experience involves burners, fired heaters, flares, boilers, thermal oxidizers, and waste incinerators, including more than 15 years in analytical design of different types of fired heaters.
