He is the founder and head of the Microfluidics Lab (http://labos.ulg.ac.be/microfluidics), a research group dedicated to small-scale flows and surface tension. His research activity is mostly experimental and theoretical, at the intersection of fluid dynamics, biology, and microtechnology. He obtained his PhD in physics in 2009 at the Univ. of Liège, and before that earned an MSc in aerospace engineering and an MSc in engineering physics. He worked as a postdoctoral instructor in the Dept. of Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a member of the American Physical Society and the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology.
