VALERIE L. YOUNG, PhD, has been on the faculty of the Dept. of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Ohio Univ. since 1996, serving as Chair of the department for 15 years. She earned her BS in chemical engineering from Lehigh Univ., her PhD in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech, and was a postdoctoral researcher in the Center for Atmospheric Chemistry at York Univ. Her early career in research focused on measurements and modeling of tropospheric chemistry. As a faculty member, she has taught chemical engineering modeling principles to students from the freshman to the graduate level.
