Valerio De Angelis, PhD, is the Executive Director of the City Univ. of New York (CUNY) Energy Institute and is a founding member of Urban Electric Power (UEP), where he leads the integration of the UEP battery cells into products that meet the needs of specific grid applications. Previously, he started Mindflash, a provider of cloud-based e-learning solutions. He started a grid-modernization center at the City College of New York (CCNY) to accelerate battery system development, integration with the grid, and development of power electronics curriculum. De Angelis holds a PhD in chemical engineering.
