Venkat Bhamidi is an experienced career scientist with a strong research background in organic and biomolecular phase transformation phenomena, crystallization, and chemical process engineering. He received his Ph. D. in chemical engineering from the University of Toledo and has conducted post-doctoral research at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He has over 20 years of R&D career with research institutions, pharmaceutical, chemical, and oil & gas industries. He is skilled in aspects of process development through experimental research and modeling, and in translation of chemical processes from lab-to-pilot-to-commercial scale. Venkat is an author/co-author of 6 patents, 17 peer reviewed journal articles, and over 30 conference/invited talks. He is passionate about adapting academic theoretical advancements into process development workflow within the constraints of industrial R&D and is an advocate of using first principles-based process modeling toward robust process design. He provides service to the chemical engineering profession through voluntary activities in support of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and as a reviewer to several scholarly journals.
