Victor H. Edwards, PhD, P.E., is a chemical engineering consultant with VHE Technical Analysis (Email: m2vhe@att.net). He has more than 50 years of experience in process safety management, process and environmental engineering, and pressure relief systems. His more than 100 career projects include biochemical and chemical processes, coal gasification, methanol-to-gasoline, liquefied natural gas (LNG), chemical weapons demilitarization, hazardous waste disposal, and emergency relief systems. In 2015, Edwards retired as Director of Process Safety for IHI Engineering and Construction International Corp. He has served on the faculties of Cornell Univ. and Rice Univ. In 2015, Edwards received the Walton/Miller Award for process safety from the Safety and Health Div. of AIChE. In 2022, he received the Ekholm Award for outstanding leadership from the South Texas Section of AIChE. He holds a BA from Rice Univ. and PhD in chemical engineering from the Univ. of California, Berkley. Edwards is a professional engineer in Texas, and an AIChE Fellow. He is a 50-year member of both AIChE and the American Chemical Society. Edwards is also a member of the New York Academy of Science.
