Victor J. Sussman is a Senior Research Scientist at The Dow Chemical Company in the Chemical Science discipline of Core R&D with 17 years of experience in the preparation and testing of heterogeneous catalysts to support a variety of chemical processes of interest to Dow. Prior to joining Dow in 2007, he earned a B.A. in chemistry from Carleton College in Northfield, MN and a Ph. D. in chemistry from the University of Minnesota under Prof. John Ellis where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. An inventor on fifteen granted patents and six patent applications, he has also authored or coauthored 27 external papers and presentations and over 90 internal reports. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, an officer in the Michigan Chapter of the North American Catalysis Society, and a Senior Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and currently serves as a Director of the Mid-Michigan Section of AIChE.
