Wesley Hamilton is currently Manufacturing Technology Director for Bromine, Bromine Derivatives and Lithium Salts at Albemarle Corporation. In this role he is responsible for manufacturing technology strategy and execution at Albemarle’s manufacturing sites in King’s Mountain, NC; Silver Peak, NV; Antafagasta, Chile; Safi, Jordan and Magnolia, AR. He also leads the manufacturing cost reduction program for Albemarle’s Performance Chemicals GBU. Wesley has been active in Albemarle’s college university recruiting program since 2005. He has also been very active in development of Albemarle’s intern / co-op and engineer training programs.
Wesley joined Akzo Nobel in 1995 where he held various positions in R&D and operations in both the surface chemistry and refinery catalyst businesses. Wesley joined Albemarle in 2004 with Albemarle’s acquisition of Akzo Nobel’s refinery catalyst business. Within Albemarle, Wesley served as FCC operations superintendent, FCC operations manager and technology director at the Bayport Texas site prior to moving to his current role.
Wesley holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the University of Houston. He serves as a volunteer mediator at both the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Houston and the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center.
