2.  Organization of the AIChE Program Committee

The PC is composed of an Executive Board of the Program Committee (EBPC) and rep-resentatives of the individual Programming Groups and their subsidiary Programming Areas.  A list of the current programming groups and areas is given in the Appendix and on the AIChE website
(http://www.aiche.org/community/sites/committees/program-committee).

Also part of the PC — from the time of their appointment by the EBPC until after the meeting in question — are the Meeting Program Chairs (MPC) and their co-chairs, as well as the General Arrangements Chair (GAC), for the Spring and Annual Meetings.  The MPCs are responsible for the technical program for these meetings, while the GAC is responsible for recruiting local session aides and providing information on area attrac-tions.

The PC reports through the EBPC to the Chemical Engineering Technology Operating Council (CTOC), one of the three operating councils that report to the AIChE Board of Directors.  The structure of the PC is illustrated in Fig. 1.
