The Saudi Young Professionals group has recently organized a technical workshop to its members. The workshop, titled Plant Design: Optimization & Feasibility Studies, was conducted on April 20, 2016. Over 150 Young Professionals (YPs) registered for the workshop, which is part of a series of simulation workshops planned by the Saudi YPs in 2016 and sponsored by AspenTech.
Attendees representing most prestigious companies and academic institutions in the region attended the workshop, including participants from Saudi Aramco, YASREF, SADARA, Abahsain, BASF, GSPS and AB&Co.
During this workshop, participants learned about the plant design aspects using simulation tools and techniques, starting from raw materials and their properties and working through models and equipment to identify the challenges with the initial design, optimizing the design, and finally optimizing plant operation. At the end of the workshop, the instructor focused on conducting feasibility studies considering the economics and energy perspectives.
The Saudi YP group showed their appreciation to the participants and instructor by providing certificates of completion to participants. The workshop was well received by participants who enjoyed a social dinner gathering right after the event.
The topic of the next Saudi YP workshop will be “Sizing Pressure Safety Valves for Pressure Relief Analysis Scenarios”. The workshop is planned on May 03, 2016.
