2025 Call for Nominations

Nominations for the following awards are due by April 15, 2025 to second vice-chair Ashlee N. Ford Versypt.

  • George Stephanopoulos Award in Process Systems Engineering
  • Computing in Chemical Engineering Award
  • Computing Practice Award
  • W. David Smith, Jr. Graduate Student Paper Award

  • CAST Outstanding Young Researcher Award

  • David Himmelblau Award for Innovations in Computer-Based Chemical Engineering Education

  • CAST Distinguished Service Award

Note that 2025 is the first time we are seeking nominations for the George Stephanopoulos Award in Process Systems Engineering. The Award recognizes “outstanding lifetime contributions to process systems engineering”. This award is co-sponsored by the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, the EFCE Working Party on Computer Aided Process Engineering (CAPE), and the AIChE CAST Division. In odd-numbered years, the AIChE CAST Division will organize the nomination and selection process. EFCE-CAPE will organize the nomination and selection process in even-numbered years. The recipient need not be a member of AIChE. A recipient may receive this Award only once. The Award consists of $3,500 and a medal. An additional travel allowance of $500 will also be provided. Note for the W. David Smith, Jr. Graduate Student Paper Award: Each applicant is eligible for consideration only for a three year period that begins with the initial nomination. Additionally, on January 1 of the year of nomination, no more than 5 years would have elapsed since the publication of the paper used as the basis for the nomination.
