Congratulations to Dr. Sreekanth Rajagopalan, the newly elected 10D 2025 Programming Coordinator. Dr. Rajagopalan is an Associate Research Scientist in the MiLOS group of the Engineering and Process Science department of Dow`s Core Research & Development organization and is based out of Lake Jackson, TX. He received his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India (2012) and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA (2018). Sree’s doctorate thesis was focused on algorithms for design and maintenance planning problems in chemical sites and commodity flow networks. His work was part of Dow`s University Partnership Initiative (UPI) program with CMU to develop mathematical optimization models for maintenance turnaround planning in integrated chemical sites. During his Ph.D., Sree had interned at Dow in the summer of 2016 with MiLOS (‘Process Optimization’ at that time) at Freeport, TX. Since joining Dow in late 2017, he has continued his work on turnaround planning and has been developing models for various sites and businesses at Dow. Sree also has a background in Global Optimization and Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming. Sree has co-authored three peer-reviewed publications including a book chapter and sixteen internal publications. Sree is a reviewer for AIChE Journal, Optimization & Engineering, and Mathematical Reviews. Sree is a member of AIChE and INFORMS (including the Houston Chapter) and has organized symposiums for new graduate students at Dow.
