Sophie Kim is an Associate Research Scientist in the Digital Innovation and Technology team at Dow Coating Materials. Since joining Dow as a data scientist in 2021, Sophie has spearheaded a variety of data science projects, encompassing machine learning, generative AI, computer vision, and market intelligence. Before her tenure at Dow, Sophie obtained her B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Rice University in 2015, followed by her M.S. in Computational Science & Engineering and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020. An active member of AIChE, Sophie currently serves as the Industry YP (Young Professional) liaison for the CAST division. She was honored with the AIChE 35 Under 35 Award in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship category and also received the 2024 SASE (Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers) Emerging Leader Award.
