Matt Bassett has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. Matt joined Corteva Agriscience after graduate school and has been with the company in various roles for 24 years. Matt currently leads the Global Crop Protection Supply Chain Analytics group. Throughout his career, Matt has developed and applied quantitative decision-making models within numerous functions throughout Corteva. Some areas of focus include mixed integer linear programming, discrete event and Monte Carlo simulation, options analysis, as well as data transformation and visualization.
Matt has been very involved in AIChE, CAST, CACHE and PSE related activities over the years. He has served as the web-page coordinator for many years and chaired or co-chaired many CAST-sponsored sessions in addition to serving as the Area 10C Programming Coordinator for the 2006 Annual Meeting. He served as a CAST Director from 2011-2013 and a CACHE Trustee from 2014-2016. He chaired FOCAPO 2008 with Marianthi Ierapetritou and Stratos Pistikopoulos as well as served on numerous programming, technical, and scientific organizing committees for additional international conferences.
