The Catalysis & Reaction Engineering Division is currently accepting nominations for two important appointments: the Area 20A Catalysis Programming Chair and the Area 20B Reaction Engineering Programming Chair. These positions entail overseeing the development and maintenance of sessions within their respective areas. Below you will find additional details on responsibilities and how to get involved.
Responsibilities:
The 20A and 20B programming chairs are responsible for managing the creation and maintenance of sessions in their respective areas. Each year leading up to the annual Fall meeting, the chair is responsible for administering virtual planning meetings. At the annual Fall meeting, the chair is responsible for coordinating chair/co-chair assignments to these sessions during onsite planning meetings. After the abstract deadline each spring, the programming chair collects additional session requests and coordinates with the Division programming chair to allocate additional sessions. The programming chair also audits the sessions during abstract review to make sure each one has an appropriate number of talks and is completed on time. These appointments are for two years beginning January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2025. Ideally the candidates will shadow the current area chairs at the 2023 AIChE Annual Meeting.
To Get Involved:
