[December 20, 2021] Dr. Rashi Tiwari was selected to receive the Management Division 2022 Young Leader Award. Dr. Tiwari is currently Associate Technical Services and Development Director in North America for the Packaging and Specialty Plastics at Dow. The Awards Committee selected Rashi for her accomplishments in delivering US$553 million in innovation product sales supporting 168 customers for Dow. She has led her team in developing novel solutions resulting in several prestigious awards including the R&D 100 and Edison awards. In 2020 alone, Dr. Tiwari's team received 17 patent grants. She is a champion for building diverse talent in the Technical Services and Development Division and through her engagement in the Society of Women Engineers.
After receiving her PhD from the University of Nevada in mechanical engineering specializing in electroactive polymers, she completed post-doctoral research at Cornell University where she focused on sensors, actuators, and energy harvesting. She then joined Core R&D at Dow in 2012. Rashi was instrumental in increasing collaboration between some Dow businesses and led multiple projects with Dow Solar and Dow Water and Process Solutions.
