Understanding Emotional Intelligence can help you in your career!

High performing teams and leaders with emotional intelligence are more likely to achieve their goals. This workshop featuring Dr David Caruso of Yale's Center for Emotional Intelligence, focuses on the ability model of emotional intelligence and begins with a hands-on illustration of the four “hard” skills of EI, followed by demonstrations of the notion that “emotions are data” and the cognitive costs of emotion suppression. After a review of a brief case study, we then provide participants with a means to apply these skills to situations faced by leaders in engineering using the Emotional Intelligence Blueprint.

Presenter: David R. Caruso, Ph.D.

David is Senior Advisor in Yale College, a Research Affiliate at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and a Partner at Accordant Advisors. He is the co-author of A Leader’s Guide to Solving Challenges with Emotional Intelligence and The Emotionally Intelligent Manager and dozens of scientific publications on emotional intelligence. He has trained thousands of professionals around the world.
