Structure

The Process Safety Division has a committee structure to enhance our services to our members. These committees include:

Membership & Communications Committee

Mission:  Manage and optimize communication for the PSD, including the website, emails, social media, and LinkedIn.

Careers and Education Committee

Mission:  Connect chemical engineering students and faculty with information about process safety.   We provide support in the practical application of process safety and associated career opportunities. 

Publications Committee

Mission:  Advance the publication and exchange of process safety knowledge by evaluating and addressing the publication activities of the Process Safety Division.

Collaboration Committee

Mission:  Increase engagement with AIChE forums and divisions and expand the visibility of PSD and process safety in AIChE activities and outreach.

IDEAL Committee

Mission: Support AICHE’s IDEAL commitment and path to progress through meaningful engagement with IDEAL Communities and Process Safety Division members.

Idea Exchange Committee

Mission:  Provide a communication medium for Process Safety Division (PSD) members to exchange non-confidential information concerning all facets of process safety and loss prevention.

Nominating Committee

Mission:  Formulate a slate of candidates for presentation to the members for annual elections.

Additionally, the Process Safety Division supports the following Symposium/Conference Programming Committees:

  • Plant Process Safety Symposium (PPSS)
  • Loss Prevention Symposium (LPS)
  • Process Safety Management Mentoring (PSMM)
  • Safety in Ammonia Plants and Related Facilities

These committees have the following characteristics:

  • Operate according to their respective written operating guidelines.
  • May seek or receive support from the Division in various forms.
  • May petition the Division for funding for activities supporting the Division objectives.
