As the world and the country try to go green, two types of nuclear power are referenced as potential clean energy sources, fusion and fission. While both terms are associated with nuclear power, what do they really mean and how is power generated from these sources? This lecture will go into the basics of how both sources utilize the atom to release energy and generate electricity. A basic diagram of plant construction will be presented. A general comparison of benefits and detriments of both sources will be discussed. The lecture will end with an open forum for questions. Please tune in if you are interested in the physics of nuclear power generation.
