Algae provides one solution to help the US reduce its dependence on foreign oil and create new green jobs. Algae oil is renewable, does not affect the food channel and consumes CO2. It can be made into jet fuel, biodiesel, biogasoline and bioplastics. Algae biomass can be made into many different co-products such as nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and organic fertilizer.

Barry Cohen is the founder and Executive Director of the National Algae Association. The National Algae Association, a 501(c)6, is the first trade association for algae farmers, and the first non-profit algae production trade association in the US. Barry is also president of Biofuel Capital Partners. Since 1986, he has owned and operated commercial lending groups financing biofuel companies in the $1,000,000 to $50,000,000 range. Read more
