TOPIC: The un-Boring of Electric Power

In what had historically been a ‘sleepy' electric power industry, emerging trends are introducing more uncertainty, more volatility, increasing risks, and at the same time, growth. Previous regulatory structures, policies, and minimal demand growth allowed this sector to stay predictable and boring for decades. Those days are over. What factors are influencing electric grids, what are the emerging issues to watch, and what are the threats to our economy including potential risks impacting your business area, now coming from the electric power sector?

SPEAKER: Anthony Carrino, Director, Solomon Associates

Tony Carrino has 24 years of experience in domestic and international power generation operations and maintenance, and asset management. He has been providing advisory services for global power generation asset performance management and optimization for more than 20 years.

Tony has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale, IL) and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, IL).
