Speaker: Rick Strong
Rick D. Strong, P.E. joined the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in April 2017 as the Director of Licensing and Registration. As the Director of the Licensing and Registration, he oversees the review of all engineering and surveying applications, Firm registrations, EIT and SIT certifications and renewals in the State of Texas. His Team reviews more than 7,000 PE, EIT, SIT, RPLS, LSLS, and Firm applications per year and handles the renewals for over 73,000 licensed Texas engineers and surveyors along with approximately 11,000 registered Firms.
He has 31 years of experience in the Texas coal mining industry; he is knowledgeable in many aspects of mining engineering and mine operations. Rick has been a licensed professional engineer in Texas since 1992.
He is a 1985 graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
He and his wife Cindy enjoy camping and outdoor activities with their large family of six grown children, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
