Finding ways to integrate cyber security concepts, principles, and best practices into our information systems and networks to achieve greater trustworthiness and resiliency is a top priority for organizations in the public and private sectors.
About the Speaker
Dr. Ron Ross is a Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), specializing in information security and risk management. He is a recognized national expert in cyber security and has received several highly prestigious awards including being inducted into the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Hall of Fame and given its highest honor of ISSA Distinguished Fellow. While assigned to the National Security Agency, he received the Scientific Achievement Award for his work on an inter-agency national security project and was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and holds Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School specializing in artificial intelligence and robotics.

Busboys and Poets is located near the intersection of 14th Street and V Street. It is about a five-minute walk from the U Street/African American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo station accessible from Metro’s Yellow and Green Lines. Upon exiting the station, head west on U Street toward 13th Street, turn right on 14th Street, and you will see the destination on the right.
