Description:

Mr. David Klucsik, Director of Communications-North America for Solvay, will speak about the company and its role in the Solar Impulse project. Solvay S.A. is one of the world’s largest chemical companies, producing products for the agriculture, automotive, aerospace, construction, consumer, healthcare, electronics, energy, and industrial sectors. Founded in 1863 by Ernest Solvay, the company is headquartered in Belgium and has over 30,000 employees worldwide, including 6,500 in North America.

Solar Impulse is a manned aircraft powered entirely by solar. The plane will resume its First Round-The-World Solar Flight in April 2016, departing from Hawaii and crossing the United States before returning to Abu Dhabi. Solvay is a main partner in the Solar Impulse project, contributing many innovative technologies to the aircraft, among them polymer coatings, advanced Li-ion batteries, and simulation software.
