January Monthly Meeting

The next event of the Silicon Valley Engineering Council, of which the NorCal section of AIChE is a member, will be held in Sunnyvale on Wednesday 3 February.  The webpage that announces the meeting is

Our next NorCal AIChE meeting will be on Tuesday 23 February at E. J. Brewing Company in Pittsburg.  Our guest presenter will be Professor Charlie Bamforth, President of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology, University of California - Davis (See the NorCal AIChE website announcement of this event).  His accomplishments are too numerous to be condensed here, so we give you his University website as follows:

Our March meeting will be at Genentech (A Member of the Roche Group) in South San Francisco on Tuesday 22 March.  Their website is as follows:

Our event for April will be our annual Symposium, which will be on Friday 8 April.  The two themes for this year's Symposium will be Biotechnology and Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS).  This event will begin in the morning and last for about 8 hours, with a break for lunch and additional refreshment breaks. 

The May meeting will take place in the East Bay on Tuesday 23 May.  The topic of the presentation by a Concord based engineering firm will be "Improving the Energy Efficiency of Fired Heaters with Big Data."

Our June meeting will be dedicated to awards and recognitions.  The date and location of the June meeting are to be determined. 

The monthly meetings are scheduled to start at 6:00 PM and wind up around 8:30 PM.
