Please join us for plant tour of Genetech -  Event is free and space is limited to the first 30 who register. 

Founded more than 35 years ago, Genentech is a leading biotechnology company that discovers, develops, manufactures and commercializes medicines to treat patients with serious or life-threatening medical conditions. 

Please join NORCAL AICHE to kick off the 2014-2015 season by visiting the Genentech Campus in South San Francisco. Tour of the Genentech headquarters in San Francisco includes visiting one of two pilot plants that are used in different stages of drug development and manufacturing  The visit also includes dinner and a lecture by Amit Mehta, a principal engineer at Genentech’s purification group. 

Date:  Tuesday October 28, 2014 – 5:30-8 Genentech, 1 DNA Way, Room 5-1R, South San Francisco Campus

Fees: Genentech has graciously accepted to host the event at no fee to AICHE members.

Program Details


Social and Gathering:

 5:30-6 pm  (Tours leave promptly at 6 pm .  To account for traffic plan to arrive early)

Pilot Plant Tours:

6-7 pm - Two different pilot plants will be available for visit - the upstream (cell culture) and downstream (purification) pilot plants.

Dinner and Lecture:

7-8 pm  - Amit Mehta, Principal Engineer in Purification Development, Dinner will be Buffett Style, Courtesy of Genentech.  Vegetarian Avail.

Location:

1 DNA Way, South San Francisco.  Building 5 (which is the 1 DNA Way address), Room 5-1R.  This is at the corner of DNA Way and Forbes Blvd.

Parking:

Across from 5-1R on Forbes Blvd (at the water's edge).  Follow signs to "Event Parking".
