The sixth annual Chemical Engineering Graduate Symposium will be held on September 19th at the University of Washington Campus. This event provides an opportunity for graduate students to show off their work to working professionals as well as to their colleagues in academia. We would love to have everyone attend.
The Graduate Symposium is entirely organized by the Association of Chemical Engineering Graduate Students at UW (ACES) as a forum for the graduate students to showcase their cutting edge research to colleagues, faculty, and representatives from industry and elsewhere. Oral presentations and posters at the Symposium will cover a wide range of topics including alternative energy, biotechnology, and molecular engineering. By attending the Symposium, you will learn about novel ideas and techniques of interest to your organization, help to improve the quality of graduate education at the UW by providing valuable feedback to our students, and meet future research leaders and potential colleagues and collaborators.
The Chemical Engineering Graduate Symposium is an all-day event that includes research talks and a poster session featuring the work of current upper level UW graduate students. In addition, the Symposium will feature a keynote address by Dr. Jud Virden, Associate Laboratory Director for the Energy and Environment Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
The cost of attendance for the entire day is $30 (RSVP below). This includes access to all talks as well as a light breakfast and lunch. If you would like to attend or have any questions about the event, please contact John Katahara at aces@cheme.washington.edu. We hope that you are able to join us for the Symposium, as we believe it will be a valuable experience for both you and the students. Together with your support and attendance, we will be able to advance the quality of work being done both at the UW and at your workplace.
