SPEAKER BIO:
Bob Strine brings a unique perspective to the Professional Liability Insurance and Risk Management industry for Architects and Engineers, as his background is in accounting and finance. Bob has more than 40 years of industry experience, 22 of which were spent working for an ENR top 150 multi-disciplined design firm. His knowledge of the industry enables him to grasp quickly the concerns, risks, and exposures that are unique to design professionals including environmental and foreign exposures. He has vast experience in contract review for the sometimes difficult requirements placed upon design firms by their clients. Bob also has working knowledge of some of the more difficult design disciplines such as environmental, design-build, and GIS (mapping).
Bob spent two years as a Senior Underwriter for one of the top insurance companies insuring design professionals today. As a result, he has an exceptional understanding of how underwriters gauge risks. This allows him to communicate quickly with his clients regarding the levels of risk a design firm faces, and also how those risks can impact an underwriter’s view of the firm.
Bob graduated from Parks Business College in 1973, majoring in Finance & Accounting. He is responsible for the 9-member Professional Liability team, and has been with USI (formerly Van Gilder) for more than 20 years.
