United StatesJoin us for a special joint meeting with the Air and Waste Management Association. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will discuss the proposed opacity rule, which is a restriction of emission of visible air contaminants. This, along with the proposed lower ozone standard may have a significant effect on all industrial operations. Both fine particles and ozone combine with the high humidity and summertime temperatures in Missouri to make for poor visibility. Learn what factors impact opacity and the health consequences of these changes.
Comments were accepted on this preliminary rule development through close of business February 11, 2015. After consideration of these comments, a proposed rulemaking is expected to be filed with the Secretary Of State’s Office by April 1, 2015, for publication in the May 1, 2015, Missouri Register. Additional comments can be made during the proposed rulemaking open comment period and public hearing. For information about providing proposed rulemaking comments, see the notice of public hearing and notice to submit comments in the May 1, 2015, Missouri Register.
