The St. Louis Chapter of the AIChE will be touring Elementis Specialties located near the Hill on Manchester.
Elementis Specialties provides high value functional additives to many markets including architectural and industrial coatings, personal care and oilfield drilling. These additives improve the flow characteristics and performance of their customers’ products or production processes.
Elementis offers a comprehensive product portfolio that includes rheology modifiers for aqueous and solvent systems, defoamers, colorants, waxes, dispersing and wetting agents, adhesion promoters and surface active additives.
The location in St. Louis supports the manufacture of rheological additives & waxes. Its major products are:

These products enhance the feel, flow and finish of everyday products including surface coatings, construction products, drilling fluids and cosmetics. The location employs 65 persons. The facility has 325,000 sq ft of manufacturing area located on 7.5 acres.
The agenda for the 1.5 to 2 hour tour includes a short presentation and Q&A session, followed by a walking tour of their facilities. After the tour, attendees can opt for a short drive to the Hill for dining at Lorenzo’s Trattoria.
The tour will start at 5:45 PM. You are welcome to enter the facility between 5:30 to 5:45. Please arrive at 5:30. Please park in the main lot just in front of the bldg.
