Don Abrahamson has over 50 years in the chemical process industry with experience in operations and engineering roles including: process safety management, operations management, process safety engineering, technical management, quality assurance management, process development and research. He retired from Celanese as the Global Process Safety Manager. He worked for Occidental Chemical for over 32 years. He has conducted PHAs, Audits, Incident Investigations and Process Safety Training on three continents: Americas, Europe and Asia. He is a BEAC Certified Process Safety Auditor, a CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional and an API Trained PSSAP Accessor. He formed Abrahamson Consulting LLC a Global Process Safety Company in 2010. He has four US Patents and holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cleveland State University.
Topic: API Process Safety Site Assessments - PHA and MOC Learnings from Over 65 PSSAP Assessments
Don Abrahamson has been a PSSAP assessor for 8 years. He will be facilitating a MOC and PHA discussion. Don’s comments and observations will be based on over 65 API Process Safety Site Assessment Program (PSSAP) assessments. The discussion will include how the protocols were developed and how they are scored. Also included will be an over view of the industry performance for the original seven protocols. There will be an in-depth discussion on the industry performance on the MOC and PHA protocols. The MOC and PHA discussion will include specific industry weaknesses and strengths. This is an opportunity to compare your MOC and PHA programs to the industry and gain some insight on how you may be able to improve your programs.
Costs:
The lunch menu is an all-inclusive buffet style for $16 per person and STS-AIChE subsidizes the lunch by $5. The non-refundable $11 registration fee includes the subsidized lunch buffet and attendance for the lunch presentation and networking.
