Keynote Presentation
"Raising America's Energy IQ"
Energy powers everything we touch, providing light, warmth, and most of the products we use on a daily basis, yet the fossil fuel industry is vilified in the mainstream media. As access to energy increases, quality of life dramatically improves — from life expectancy and child mortality to education and economic freedom. Jason Isaac makes the connection between access to affordable, reliable energy and human flourishing and offers strategies to communicate how responsible production of energy will continue to make the world safer, our environment cleaner, and each and every citizen more prosperous.
The Honorable Jason Isaac
Jason Isaac is Director of Life:Powered, a project of the Texas Public Policy Foundation to raise America’s energy IQ.
Prior to joining Life:Powered, Jason, a fourth-generation native Texan, was elected four times as the State Representative for Hays and Blanco counties in the Texas Hill Country. He served on the Energy Resources and Environmental Regulation committees, among others.
Jason has appeared on national news shows, and his commentaries have been published in The Hill, The Washington Examiner, the Daily Caller, Fox News, and other publications.
Jason is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. He lives in Hays County with his wife, Carrie, and two sons.
Pre-dinner TIEEP Water Forum (4:00-6:00pm)
(2 PDH Credit) - “The Water/Energy Nexus.”
Abstract
Water and energy are inextricably interconnected. We need water, in greater or lesser amounts, in all types of energy production and energy conversion processes, and we need energy to manage our water resources. Our water forum presenters this year bring us a number of innovations that provide new twists to the water-energy connection.
The Water Forum is run jointly by the Texas Industrial Energy Efficiency Program and STS-AIChE.
