This webinar will present on two topics:
- Moving Open Process Automation (OPA) to Commercial Reality
- AI in Manufacturing: Trends, Industrial Use Cases, and Development Needs
The presentation will start with the first topic to present ExxonMobil’s initiative to help transitioning industry from closed, proprietary to open, secure, standards-based systems that accelerate innovation & value creation; the second topic is to present one of the examples of taking advantage of this open system to deploy innovative solutions such as AI in Manufacturing.
Presenters
Kelly J. Li
Commerical Lead, Automation and Process Control
ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company (EMTEC)
Kelly graduated from University of Maryland with degree in Chemical Engineering. She started her ExxonMobil career in 2006. In the past 18 years, Kelly had a broad range of technical and leadership roles within the corporation. She started as a Dynamic Simulation Engineer, and later became the Dynamic Simulation Supervisor to a global team of ten engineers. She went on application engineer assignments in two manufacturing sites (Baytown and Singapore). In her role as the Blending Control Discipline Technology Leader, she oversaw the technology development and deployment to more than a dozen of downstream sites globally. More recently, she went on a business development assignment in the Low Carbon Solutions Company, developing new market for low carbon intensity hydrogen products, with the mission of accelerating the world's path to net-zero.
She currently holds the role of Commercial Lead – Open Process Automation in ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company (EMTEC), leading the efforts in advocacy, adoption, and commercialization of new solutions.
In her spared time, Kelly enjoys traveling. She has so far been to 40 countries and territories in six continents. Fun fact: Kelly was admitted to MENSA.
Jitendra Kadam
Principal Autonomous Technologies Engineer, iSOP Program Leader in A&PC Division
ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company (EMTEC)
Dr Kadam obtained his Dr. Ing (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University Germany (2005). He has experience in the area of Modeling, Optimization, Process Control, Chemicals, Polymers Process Domain, Disruptive technologies and Innovation to Practice.
He started out as an Applications Engineer at the ExxonMobil Antwerp facilities where he worked on Dynamic Optimization and developed D-RTO for fouling optimization. At the Baton Rouge Plastics Plant he developed the first application of dynamic optimization for the site. He also led the G2 (expert system for process control) replacement platform. At the Baytown Site as the Non-Linear Control (NLC) expert he lead the project deployments in the field. He developed integrated process control platform for polymers and promoted the Develop One Deploy many NLC approach. As the Group Head for NLC and Disruptive Technologies he led Smartlane, One-Model-Centric Process Research and Operations Optimization and made significant contributions in the Chemicals Technology area. Currently he is the Autonomous Technologies Principal Engineer and the program lead for Autonomous Operations (iSOP). He is working on the journey towards autonomy (intelligent Integrated Automation).
