About

The mission of AIChE is to promote excellence in the development and practice of chemical engineering. Key strategies include:

• Providing forums for the advancement of chemical engineering in theory and practice
• Providing opportunities for individual chemical engineers to enhance their professional skills and capabilities
• Upholding and advancing high professional standards and ethics
• Communicating knowledge and understanding of the chemical enginering profession to the various prublics we serve

The Texas Gulf Coast Section of AIChE supports this mission by providing a local forum for interaction among chemical engineers and other professionals in chemical and related industries. Meetings and activities are provided for the sharing of information related to the chemical engineering profession and math and science, in general. Opportunities are given for the public and particularly students to learn more about chemical engineers and chemical engineering. Leadership and organizational skills of individuals are enhanced through involvement in section activities. In all of these ways, the local section supports the AIChE mission.
