It's hard to believe that it's September, but time marches on. The Tulsa AIChE Local Section met on September 1 at Panera, 71st and Garnett. Dr. Jamie Hestekin (Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Arkansas) spoke on the subjects of "Hydraulic Fracturing Produced Water, Brackish Water Treatment, and Other Places where Electrically Driven Membrane Processes can Compete with Reverse Osmosis". It was very interesting to have one of the top experts provide insight in this developing field. I want to give Dr. Hestekin a big thanks.
The meeting started with social time and dinner at 6:30 pm and the talk began at 7:00 pm. It was good to see several new people. If you weren't there, we will see you at the next meeting.
Attached are pictures from the meeting.
Cheers!
