"Renewables Effect on the Drive to Make the Electric Grid Sustainable"
The talk will discuss the impact of Wind and Solar in evolving Lithium-ion Batteries from Electric Vehicles cars to performing peaking service for the electric grid on our road to Sustainability for generating electricity. Don Gurney is currently conducting an eight week class “Renewables Environmental Progress in Electricity Generation” for the OLLI program at Furman University. This talk is based on one of the sessions covering battery development.
Don is a former Chair and has served on the Executive Committee of this section. He has held Senior and Executive positions in the private sector for the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Engineering & Construction industries. He holds a Doctor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology
