The new tax law lowered taxes for most taxpayers. However, it also changed the way many taxpayers should approach their annual tax planning.  Doubling the standard deduction was very helpful, but should also cause you to think differently about the way you pay your property taxes, contributions, and your quarterly state income tax estimate.  Mike will discuss some tax planning ideas to help you minimize taxes in order to maximize your retirement assets.  It may surprise you to learn that making the maximum contribution to your traditional 401K or IRA may not be the best long-term strategy. The presentation will continue with a discussion of the differences between a traditional and a Roth IRA. You or your spouse may be able to contribute to an IRA and don’t even know it! Let’s clear up who’s eligible and make sure you’re taking advantage of your options!
