Trends reported by industry suggest capital project delivery is sub-par and not improving, despite an intensive focus on execution. Fewer projects meet original goals, business intent, or within budget. In the United States alone, this less than optimal performance costs organizations billions of dollars of wasted capital. We will review the disappointing data, see the common factors that challenge project performance, and discuss some of the best practices to promote successful project delivery.
Mr. John Brady has been immersed in the process industry for the past 30 years. He is a Clemson University Chemical Engineering graduate and registered professional engineer.   Mr. Brady successfully developed, optimized, and executed business strategies for multiple businesses. For the past decade, Mr. Brady has been engaged in various roles in the Engineering and Construction industry. He is currently Vice President of Business Development at CH2M, responsible for global business development for the Chemicals and Manufacturing markets.
