Workshop Title: Introduction to the IDAES PSE Framework
Instructors: Dr. John Eslick, Dr. Radhakrishna Tumbalam Gooty, and Dr. Miguel Zamarripa
Overview: The IDAES PSE framework was developed as part of National Energy Technology Laboratory’s (NETL’s) Institute for the Design of Advanced Energy Systems. IDAES was formed to address the gaps between state-of-the-art commercial simulation packages and general algebraic modeling languages by creating an extensible, equation-oriented process model library using Pyomo. IDAES is building to be the premier resource for identification, synthesis, optimization, and analysis of novel energy systems.
This workshop will cover the basics of IDAES, how to install, and a very brief introduction to Pyomo. Attendees will also learn how to set up a unit model, optimize flowsheets, and estimate parameters associated with a property package within IDAES.
