Economic (cost) break points can be found every step of the way through pilot plant design and construction. For example, decisions made on throughput (equipment and line size), design pressure and temperature (material of construction and component rating), operating mode (batch or continuous, once-through or recycle), lifecycle, layout (space constraints), level and sophistication of automation (instrumentation and control system), and application of specifications can all impact the final plant cost.
In this presentation, the top ten economic break points will be identified, each illustrated with examples from actual pilot plant projects completed by Zeton.
