(316c) Cyberinfrastructure Trends and the Influence on Engineering Research:

There are a number of technologies that are maturing simultaneously, and each can be considered ?disruptive? in its own right. For this presentation we'll restrict ourselves to a limited set technologies, including at a minimum broadband communication, grid computing, supercomputing, web services, storage, and search/pattern technologies. We'll discuss how these technologies, combined with globalization and cultural factors, will affect science in profound ways.
