(363a) Scale up of a Co-Current Solid Liquid Leaching Process

A liquid-solid co-current leaching process had a design choice of: 1. Percent solids 2. Mixing power level for various degrees of solid suspension, specifications, 3. Degree of extraction produced. Pilot Plant studies were made in a 0.3 meter diameter tank and slurry viscosity measurements made with a mixing viscosimeter. Translation was made to full size tanks approximately 14 meters diameter. The parameters were evaluated for the economics of cost and benefits.
