Biodiesel is produced via transesterification of animal fats or vegetable oils. Rapeseed oil and soybean oil are the most frequently utilized oil feedstocks for biodiesel production in Europe and the United States, respectively. This session focuses on the engineering analysis and application of innovative feedstocks and processes for biodiesel production. Papers discussing basic research, pilot, and industrial scale results will be considered.
