Crystallization of Biological Macromolecules in the Structural Genomics Era

Chair(s)

Judge, R. A., Abbott Laboratories

Co-chair(s)

Lenhoff, A., Department of Chemical Engineering

The purpose of this session is to advance practical knowledge in the growing of macromolecule crystals for structure determination. The session covers the crystallization of complex biomolecules (including membrane proteins), new methods or techniques for obtaining macromolecule crystals, and high throughput methods and equipment. The targeted audience includes academic or industrial participants involved in structure determination, those targeting difficult to crystallize biological macromolecules, structural genomics, and crystallization automation development. Papers dealing with applications and methods for industrial separations utilizing crystallization are not solicited for this session
