The increasing need for high throughput analytical tools for drug discovery and proteomics has led to the advancement of techniques for electrophoresis, chromatography, membrane separations and spectroscopy. Capillary electrophoresis in conjunction with on-line mass spectroscopic methods are striving to meet the high throughput demands while delivering the desired separation. Integrated micro-fabricated devices; micro-chips, offer numerous solutions to analytical separations. Multi-dimensional separations demonstrate tremendous potential for future drug development and disease causing gene/biomolecule identification. Papers for this session are solicited to highlight the latest theoretical and experimental advances in high throughput bioseparations.
