Processing of Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals under High Pressure

This session will highlight advances in the use of compressible and supercritical fluids for processing pharmaceuticals and/or nutraceuticals. The session will focus on processing and property enhancement through the application of compressible fluids for solvent replacement, particle formation or improvement of specific properties (i.e., morphology, particle size, etc). Topics of interest include but are by no means limited to use of supercritical or near critical fluids for: extraction, separation, purification, synthesis, rapid expansion and antisolvent techniques applied to pharmaceuticals and/or nutraceuticals. Other topics of interest include novel analytical techniques using supercritical fluids in the synthesis and characterization of pharmaceuticals and/or nutraceuticals.
