(160c) Release Profile of Phenanthrene into Coumarin Modified MCM-41

Catalysts play an important role in the chemical engineering fields, and many catalysts have been developed for centuries. This material was a breakthrough development to overcome weak points of several catalysts. In the recent days, many modified catalysts with several characters have been developed.In this study, the release test of phenanthrene in coumarin modified MCM-41 was carried out, and monomerization and dimerization of coumarin was excuted. The result of this test gave possible application of the controlled release in drug delivery system. However, some problems still remain, such as the small loaded and released quantity. Further improvement of the synthesis and the efficiency of UV irradiation is needed to resolve these problems.
