Given the recent studies highlighting the peculiar diffusion of n-alkanes in 5A, we have investigated the adsorption isotherms of n-Alkanes in the range n-C8 to n-C16 using the ZLC method. Tests were performed to ensure equilibrium control and experiments were carried out at three different temperatures. The ZLC desorption curves were converted into adsorption isotherms, which were simultaneously fitted to a dual-site Langmuir isotherm in order to determine the concentration dependence of the heats of adsorption. While past work has shown the utility of the ZLC method for determining adsorption isotherms for light gases, this work demonstrates the utility of this method on systems that are intermediate, in terms of adsorption strength, thus validating the technique for new cases that are of industrial interest.
