Adsorptive separations are increasingly emerging as enabling and/or cost-controlling technologies for applications ranging from large-scale manufacture of protein pharmaceuticals to microscale assays. This talk will survey recent advances in the field, attempt to project future developments, and present some of our own work in metal-chelate RNA affinity separations and nanostructured adsorbents.
